WEEKLY OBJECTIVES: STUDENTS WILL UNDERSTAND THAT LIFE IS MOSTLY MADE UP OF FIVE ELEMENTS THAT COMBINE TO FORM THE FOUR BIOMOLECULES OF LIFE. STUDENTS WILL RECOGNIZE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE BIOMOLECULES OF LIFE
Monday - Complete and hand in the two pH labs. Lecture on Carbon and Carbohydrates and Lipids; Assign vocab for section 6.3
Tuesday - Students will build models of carbohydrates and lipids and relate the structure to their function.
Wednesday - Lecture on the structure of proteins. Students will build models of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins and relate structure to function.
Thursday - Vocabulary quiz on 6.3, biomolecules; Lab on the function of enzymes
Friday - Half-day
