WEEKLY OBJECTIVES: 1) STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE REVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC METHOD BY DESIGNING AND RUNNING AN EXPERIMENT. 2) STUDENTS WILL REVIEW THE PARTS OF AN ATOM AND PRACTICE DESCRIBING THE LOCATION OF PROTONS, NEUTRONS, AND ELECTRONS.
Monday - Students will design and run an experiment to determine if "Double Stuff" oreos actually contain double the cream. Each group will submit a report on their experiment. Homework vocabulary sections 1.2 and 1.3.
Tuesday - Chapter 1 review. Reading guide 1.3 as homework.
Wednesday - Chapter 1 Test After test, vocabulary 6.1 page 167
Thursday - Lecture on structure of the atom and the periodic table.
Practice using the periodic table to determine the location and number of protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Friday - Lecture on ionic, covalent, and hydrogen bonds. Continue worksheet on the structure of the atom. Homework: reading guide 6.1
